Summer Interlude on a Lake

Splash, sigh, tre, tre, tre, tre, sighhhhh, sing the waves on the pebbly shingle.

Zzzhhhhhhhhzzzzzzz says the reel as the line is slung out into blue-green waters.

Chattering, the boys hunt for fossils.

Giggle-sploosh -- Mama and Noah in the warm, soft water.

Whisper, and sit under the sycamore at the old water's edge, and sniff the pure smell of summertime.

Sigh.
